Alapomeji Adigun, aka 9ice was the cynosure of all eyes in the 2009 World hip hop Awards held at the International Conference Center Abuja, when won four awards.
The exponent Gongo Aso won the Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Rap Album in the Pop category
His producer, ID Cabasa, won the Producer of the Year with the song Gongo Aso, beating Don Jazzy D'banj's, Tee Y Mix, Terry G and Jasse Jagz.
Other winners are Jude Okoye, Best Music Video with the roll is Psquare; Timaya the best Reggae and Dance Hall Album.
Helenaipn 'good or bad, with Psquare Timaya and was awarded Best Collabo album.
MI won the Hip Hop World Revelation with the talk about the song and best album rap; NAET C won the Best Rap Single, Banky, Best Vocal Performance (male) and Omawunmi, Best Vocal Performance (female).
Omawunmi also was awarded the best in the nominal category Next. She not only win a prize, was given a car Kia Optima 2008 for his efforts. She had already won the artist the 5th best dressed at the party held at nominated Ajibogun Village, Ota, May 9.
Veteran DJ Grandmaster Lee and Philip Trimnell were recognized at the World Hip Hop Hall of Fame, while DJ Zeez of Fame, the 04 Kasib won Best Street Hop. Mode 9 was the best lyricist of Roll.
The show includes a musical performance well attended MI, Dare Art Alade, Lord of Ajas and 9ice, Sound Sultan and Tuface, Omawunmi and others.
Well, for those who were named, but did not win, do not worry, work harder, you might be lucky enough to secure a prize next year.
