hip hop poetry

It is believed to have originated in the 1990s by Kedar Massenburg of Motown Records, the term Neo Soul refers to a musical genre that many observers are calling for the revitalization of the soul. This genus is unique in the way that merges the old-school soul and R & B, with styles ranging from blues and electric rock to poetry and spoken word. Raphael Saadiq, Tony Toni Tone is attributed largely to the birth of the revolution with artists like D'Angelo and Erykah Badu leading wave in the new millennium. While the next generation of soul features a balance of many musical elements, one of the most notable is hip hop. Being that genera are closely related, it should come as no surprise that some of the brightest stars in hip hop today are making the transition to soul music.

The history of hip hop and soul

Choose an album of almost any hip hop artist that has been prevalent in the past two decades and is sure to encounter a familiar hook you've heard somewhere before. It may be fragments of Etta James "Hard to Handle" on Nas affirmative action or a touch of "I Miss You" Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes slipped into Jay Z "This can not be life."

From the beginning, the artists hip-hop have paid tribute to classic soul music, using samples of their catchy songs. The trend is still popular today because it is not uncommon to hear the voice Nina Simone angelic mixed with conscious lyrics rapper Talib Kweli and sentimental sound of Curtis Mayfield music congratulating the Grammy-winning artist Kanye West. It is the affection and respect for the old school that has led to more artists and more will the soul.

In 1984, a group known as the Force MD's began recording Tommy Boy Records, saying his style of music combines musical influences from different eras. Although this quartet was heavily influenced by early hip hop, Doo wop 1950 along with 1960 and 1970 left their impressions on the soul. Force MD's were inspired by the Fat Boys, LL Cool J, Run DMC and Whodini but most are not aware that also got into the penguins and five privates, groups that are on the corner doo wopping before these guys even born. Anyone who sound is familiar with the agreement that the Force MD were far ahead of his time, delivery and neo-soul years before hip hop Mary J. Blige was anointed as Queen of Hip Hop Soul.

Who has been the soul?

Several hip hop artists and producers are showing the diversity through the release mixed with elements of soulful tracks. Common has always been considered a hip hop artist bordering the soul genre, but you may be surprised to learn that DJ Jazzy Jeff has been flirting with the success of these experimental sounds that way. Over the years, Jazzy has produced a series of soul-driven album with songs with names like Jill Scott and Raheem DeVaughn among many other aspiring artists soul. The continued concentration of these gender dynamics is good to see that not only is being received by the soul music fans, but also helping to bring neo soul to the surface and reach the ears of most listeners.
